what has been going on this week: it was a quiet beginning of the week, then i headed to chicago for a girls weekend with my college roomies!
size of baby: he weighs around 2 lbs and measures 14.5 inches long. the size of a cauliflower.
maternity clothes: i pretty much rotate my 2 pairs of maternity jeans and 2 pairs of maternity leggings with a handful of maternity shirts these days. i'm gonna be pretty sick of these clothes by december ;)
symptoms: the usual: broken out skin, hungry and tired a lot, braxton hicks contractions, etc. lately i've been getting really bad muscle/ligament pain on the bottom side of my belly. luckily it goes away as soon as i sit down and rest. i called the nurses line to make sure it was normal (i figured it was) and she told me that's it's one of the common complaints of subsequent pregnancies. my muscles/ligaments are already stretched out and weak from the first time around. fun fun. luckily it was not a problem in chicago at all!
movement: lots of movement and hiccups, which i love!
gender: baby BOY!
food cravings/aversions: stuffed deep dish pizza - nom! mochas and lattes are hit or miss.
morning sickness: still that liiiiitle bit of nausea in the morning. i've come to the conclusion that it's caused by being full from breakfast, paired with the taste of tooth paste in my mouth after brushing my teeth. sounds weird, but it's true! i don't plan on skipping breakfast or teeth brushing any time soon though :)
what i miss: it would have been fun to enjoy a few adult beverages on my weekend getaway, but it's all worth it.
best moment of the week: spending the weekend in chicago with my roomies was pretty sweet! :)
what thatcher is saying: i'm saying thank you to HIM for taking such good care of our girl while i had a weekend away. i love that they could have that time together.
sleep: not the best, sometimes i feel like sleeping is more uncomfortable than being active with this growing belly. but it won't last forever. soon i'll have disrupted sleep for other reasons.
what i'm looking forward to: i can't believe i'm 27 weeks and we haven't started the nursery. but like i mentioned, we are re-doing our basement right now and baby is going to be taking our current room, so it's a multi-step project that thatcher doesn't have time for yet. and i probably shouldn't be moving furniture around the house ;)
