lots of stage crew, first friday, daylight saving time

 last monday i started feeling a bit better. well enough to go to the grocery store - wahoo ;) but thatcher started feeling sick and worked from home/rested most of the week. siiigh. azalea had stage crew at school from 6-9pm. i can't believe how quickly the musical is coming up. she also took this cute picture of winnie working away on my laptop. 90% of my camera roll is winnie, if you couldn't tell. ha! 

tuesday i went back to the gym, but that was probably pushing it for how i felt. ashford had zoom piano in the evening. it was a really long night and i was counting down the days til daylight saving time. i'm sure i felt this way in seattle too, but the long dark evenings are really getting to me this year.

wednesday and thursday azalea had tech again in the evening. 

friday felt exactly like a seattle winter day. all the snow was gone, and it was rainy and 44 degrees. 

in the evening, we had our monthly 'first friday' potluck at liz and joe's. azalea wasn't able to go because of theater, so she was bummed, but her schedule will be freeing up again in just a couple of weeks. i thoroughly enjoyed seeing their kitchen renovation, not having to cook dinner, and catching up with them and their friends. 

saturday morning we woke up to a new inch of snow. mother nature sure has a sense of humor. azalea had stage crew at school from 10am-3pm(!). my college roomate sarah came over to meet winnie and then we went to 'mothership pizza' for lunch. i had been wanting to try it since we moved back. our pear gorgonzola salad and arugula prosciutto pizza were delicious. in the late afternoon, the kids and i went to homegoods to look for a deluxe bed for winnie. she is outgrowing the crate in our bedroom and has been sleeping in our bed with us for the past week. i'm not opposed to this perse, but we thought we'd see if she would go for a dog bed on the floor. 

we put it in the dining room first. she seemed to enjoy it. 

then she took a nap next to it. ha! 

we brought it up to our room at bedtime and not surprisingly she insisted on being on our bed for the night. so maybe it will become a dining room nap bed instead :) 

sunday morning was daylight saving time. we didn't need to get up for anything, so that was nice. we had a late brunch of homemade cinnamon rolls. (so good!). 

winnie got to have a puppy playdate with a german shepard named echo that our nextdoor neighbors are dogsitting. echo was really sweet and gentle with her, but not super into her puppy energy. haha. 

we didn't have any plans sunday and it was forecasted to be 60 degrees for the first time this year. it reached 61, but it was mostly cloudy all day. winnie got two walks, so she was a happy girl. during the second one, our neighborhood was more bustling than i've ever seen it. adults, kids, and dogs everywhere! the end of hibernation season is coming. i've probably mentioned this before, but winnie knows when we are getting close to our house (even over a block away) and sits down and protests going any closer because she doesn't want the walk to end. haha! 

we ended the night making greek chicken gyros and enjoying the beautiful (after 7pm!!) sunset.
