last monday we watched the mariners in game 7 of the playoffs - the game that would send the winner to the world series...and they lost :( it's a bummer, but i was only a fair-weather fan and i won't pretend i had been invested all season. haha.
tuesday we had the basement people out again to fix where the water came in. we also had our fancy blue star stove serviced and learned some tips and tricks for it. ashford had zoom piano in the evening.
wednesday morning i took my mom to an appointment and then we had lunch at 'sunshine factory' with brandon because we were out that direction. in the afternoon, the gas fireplace service guy came out and gave us the go ahead to safely use both fireplaces. i took this picture because the light is so pretty in this room in the late afternoon.
we got our dining room put together after the floor refinishing and i couldn't resist testing out the fireplace for a little bit. so cozy!
thursday i went to the gym for the first time in a week and a half. didn't mean to take a break, but it was MEA break i guess. azalea had her thursday babysitting gig after school.
friday in the late afternoon i met my friends karen and bridget for happy hour at 'red cow'. they have a great happy hour menu there and i will definitely be back. then i headed to the high school to meet azalea to volunteer at the annual community ed halloween party. i hadn't been to it since before we moved and it has moved locations within the building. i ran into lots of people i know while helping at the 'lollipop wheel'. it was a tiring 3 hours with a never ending line of kids, but lots of fun.
saturday morning thatcher left very early for a conference in portland. he actually flew through seattle and spent a half day there seeing some friends and visiting our old neighborhood. the kids, my brother and i were supposed to meet up with kelli and her girls at a pumpkin patch out by them, but we decided to pivot plans when it rained all morning. they ended up coming here for playtime with the kids' old toys...and donuts :)
in the afternoon, azalea had a birthday party for her friend nick from school at his house. ashford and i hung out at home and i watched some of season 2 of 'nobody wants this.' he and i had enough time to go out for dinner before picking her up, so he chose convention grill. it was divine as always.
we lounged at home the rest of the night.
sunday morning my friend sarah came to see our house and she and i got chaiders (chai + hot apple cider) at the coffee shop and walked around my neighborhood and part of the lake. it was a beautiful fall morning and so nice to catch up. the kids and i ran some last minute halloween errands in the afternoon and then i prepped a lasagna for dinner. i invited thatcher's parents, my mom, and my brother for dinner. thatcher had to miss out, but that's ok.
i'm excited for halloween this week, though i know i will be missing our seattle friends and traditions.
