so many appointments, 5 years since covid, eric hutchinson show

 i had to laugh when i looked back at our schedule last week. we were at the dentist or orthodontist three of the days. and then throw in car maintenance another day as well. i truly don't know how households with two full-time working parents are able to fit all these time-consuming things in. big props if that is you! 

last monday i had a dentist appointment in the morning. i also went to great clips to get my hair cut (it had been 6 months). yes, i go to great clips these days and not a fancier salon...and it's honestly great. ashford had baseball practice in the evening. it's nice that it's light out later now for those, but it was pretty gloomy and cold in general last week. however, the cherry blossoms are starting to bloom, which is always exciting.

tuesday morning i took our vehicle in for maintenance. i left to run other errands in the neighborhood and came back two hours later and still had to wait a bit. ashford had piano in the late afternoon. march 11th was also the 5th anniversary of the world shutting down for covid. i can't believe it's been 5 years. i feel like 2020-2022 went by at a snail's pace but 2022-2025 has flown by. i went back and re-read my posts from 2020 and 2021. ashford and i were talking about the beginning of the pandemic the other night and it's weird to think he doesn't remember a lot of the details (he was in kindergarten). 

wednesday was cleanings at the dentist for the kids after school. they both got good reports. then i had to prep dinner early and take ashford and fritz to basketball practice. once thatcher got home from work, i headed out to the 'tractor tavern' in our neighborhood. i bought a ticket to see one of my favorite musicians, eric hutchinson a few months ago. my friend michelle came from minnesota in 2023 to see him with me, but this time i went solo. a first for me. i had the best night! eric's shows are always fun, but i met two women who were in town from rhode island for a work conference and hung out with them all night. and i was home by 10pm. win-win. 

thursday after school got out, i had a meeting with the teachers and some parents about the 5th grade yearbook. the school only does yearbooks for 5th graders and it's a memory book of all of their years there. i ended up having to leave early because i needed to take azalea to the orthodontist. whew! just a quick check in for her invisalign.

friday thatcher took the day off work to go up to the property to plant some trees. azalea had her first of 4 spring-enrichment program field trips with school. she got to go snow shoeing in the mountains. so cool. we had no plans in the evening. we had leftovers for dinner and watched a movie. 

saturday morning ashford had a basketball game. the season ends next weekend. which is probably good because he is having conflicting schedules with baseball every week now. they won their game. we hung out at home for a while, azalea made these no bake dessert cups, and they were so good! 

she and i also took a trip to michaels and homegoods :) in the evening, i dropped off ashford at fritz's house for a sleepover. then thatcher and i took azalea to a new (to us) thai restaurant in queen anne. the food and the ambiance was 10/10. we all loved it. 

then we came home and watched a movie. 

sunday morning we slept in and had no plans all day. we ran some errands, i read a bunch, thatcher and i went on a walk together. ashford met up with some friends in the afternoon. it was a nice, chill sunday. 

now we are back at it, but zero appointments this week!
