mountain beauty, bell changes, more games

i was driving through olympic manor neighborhood last week and had to pull over to take a picture of the mountains because they looked so pretty. whenever i find myself getting "used to" living around such beauty (which starts to happen after almost 8 years) i try to stop and take a moment to really appreciate how magical it is.

last tuesday ashford had a baseball game. i got roped into scoring the game in the gamechanger app (little league is so modern now!). thankfully i only had to track the runs and not all of the other plays. they lost 8-10, but they played well and came back from an even bigger loss.

i find a lot of pictures like this on my phone, thanks to my goofy guy.

thursday evening i met my friend beth for margaritas at 'the matador' in our neighborhood. yes, we went on may 4th and not cinco de mayo. ;) it was nice to catch up with her!

the kids called me downstairs one morning to show me the hammock that they made for slothy (it's touching the floor - haha). i love that they still do stuff like this at 12 and 9.

friday the rain returned. which was a bummer because ashford had his annual 'moveathon' at school. but they held it anyway. he did 40 laps around the playground - wow! also on friday we got an email from the district that ashford's school will be starting at 7:55 am next fall. sigghhhh. we've been so spoiled with 8:55 start times since azalea's preschool days. her school will still start at 8:55, so the kids will have different schedules, which will be very interesting. we had a lazy night in on friday night. ashford's baseball practice was cancelled due to rain, so we got thai take out and watched a movie.

saturday morning thatcher took ashford to buy a new bike. they had to go to 3 places to find one, but they were finally successful. i can't wait for family bike outings. in the afternoon azalea and i took a trip to the library, starbucks, and the grocery store. then she went to sisi's house. ashford had a game in the evening. it ended up being kind of a chilly night. and they lost their game again. i think the boys are getting sort of discouraged from all the losses lately, but hopefully they will get some more wins before the end of the season. we got home and heated up frozen pizza and some mac n cheese because it was almost 8pm. i love baseball season, but i won't miss the dinner-time games.

sunday morning we made waffles, bacon, and eggs for breakfast. the day was a mix of relaxing at home and running errands. the rhododendrons along our driveway are blooming and i love them!

ashford took his new bike out for a spin at the park with fritz and arlo. azalea had a 6pm soccer game way down in south seattle, so we all went to that. it was a beautiful night.

now onto another week! seattle is supposed to really heat up this week, too.
