april wrap up: a glorious seattle spring week

last week delivered all the sunshine and warm temps and it felt so amazing! we don't have harsh winters here, but just a change in the skies and slightly warmer temps can still feel monumental at this time of year. it was the perfect week for this weather because ashford had three baseball games in 3 days. naturally, we also spent as much time on our deck as possible.

these trees on our street are so pretty right now.

wednesday evening ashford went down to the park to play with fritz during fritz's brother's baseball game and a big group of neighborhood boys started up a game together. such a simple childhood pleasure, but it's something that i feel like is rare nowadays. i took this picture when i walked down to have him come home :)

thursday evening was ashford's first of 3 games for the week. it was a beautiful night for it. unfortunately his team lost (i don't even know what the final score was). the other team had a couple of really good pitchers, who struck out our players left and right. ashford did manage to get two hits, though, which was exciting. i didn't take any pictures at this game.

friday seattle hit 70 degrees (76 actually) for the first time this year. wahoo! i took this picture on the way to the gym in the morning. it was so beautiful out.

ashford's second game of the week was friday evening. it was a make up for their first game that got rained out a couple weeks ago. they were much more evenly matched with this team and they won 8-4. ashford hit a single, and later got on base again after getting hit in the arm by a pitch :/. so he's a little hesitant at the plate now. i keep forgetting to take pictures, but it was a fun, warm night. the gym teacher from school even came to watch them, which was so sweet.

saturday morning was ashford's third game (whew!). it was gorgeous out again. azalea and i dropped him off for his pre-game practice and then walked to 'mabel' to get coffee and a treat. they lost their game, but their gym teacher came again (so nice!) and so did ashford's classroom teacher. this game was at loyal heights, which is a much nicer field.

after the game, ashford's friend arlo came over and azalea hung out with sisi for a while. it got up to 78 degree so i spent a lot of time on the deck. this was after 5pm ;)

then fritz came over for a sleepover (it was a marathon day). we made pad thai for dinner and the kids relaxed on their screens the rest of the night.

sunday morning we made pancakes, eggs, and bacon and then fritz got picked up. we hung out at home for most of the day. our little stretch of summer ended and it was cool and cloudy. in the mid afternoon i dropped off ashford at arlo's house. the plan was for them to do a lemonade stand, which ashford has never done before :) it wasn't the nicest day for it, but they managed to make $26 in 90 minutes, thanks to a few generous customers.

thatcher and i went to azalea's soccer game. they played the best team in their bracket and lost 1-6 but they played well.

we wrapped up the weekend with a trip to mcdonald's for the kids and me, followed by much-needed showers, and watching tv.

happy may! we are in the last 2 months of school now - wow!
