cherry blossoms, dinners out, spring soccer

it's cherry blossom season here and it makes me so happy!

last tuesday night ashford had baseball practice.

wednesday night i went out for dinner downtown with my friends erica, meredith, and heather. vanessa wasn't able to join us because she was out of town. we went to 'chan seattle' which is a modern korean restaurant (very foodie place). it was so good! then we headed to purple wine bar for dessert. it was a fun night until we walked erica back to the parking garage to get her car and she was locked out of the garage even though it was supposed to still be accessible. all the doors were locked, no attendant was on site, and the number listed to call was disconnected. :( she ended up leaving her car there overnight. never a dull moment!

friday night ashford was supposed to have baseball practice, but it got rained out. we made enchiladas for dinner and watched a movie with the kids.

saturday was a busy day. in the morning i took ashford to fred meyer to get a birthday gift for fritz's party later in the day. in the afternoon azalea's friend lilah came over to hang out. then ashford got picked up for baseball practice by fritz's dad. 15 minute after it started it was hailing and i thought they might have to quit. the girls ran outside to check out the hail.

thankfully it blew over in a few minutes and they were able to resume their practice.

after practice ashford had fritz's birthday party. they had pizza and went to 'portal' (the VR place azalea and thatcher tried out last weekend). azalea and i had our own little dinner date out to 'sopranos' in our neighborhood. we ordered salad, garlic bread, spaghetti, and lasagna and it was all so good. she's really fun to take to restaurants these days and i love having one on one time with her.

we ended the night with watching the hunger games 'mockingjay - part 1' which i mostly slept through ;)

sunday morning azalea had her first soccer game of the spring (off) season. it was chilly and wet, but she got to play at 'interbay stadium' which felt really fancy. they lost their game 1-3, but they haven't played together since december.

in the afternoon we hung out at home and then azalea and i took a trip to the library/grocery store. we made dinner and relaxed the rest of the evening.

this is the kids' last week of school before their spring break. and thatcher's parents are coming next week, so there is lots to look forward to! now if only we could get a little more sun and a little less rain.
