20 years of us, 6th grade night, 7th seattleversary

 all of last week i felt like a chicken running around with its head cut off. between the approaching end of the school year, end of sports season, various appointments, work, and our upcoming trip, my brain is constantly worrying that i am forgetting to do something. and i think it's going to be that way until we step onto the airplane in two weeks.

ashford had a baseball game last tuesday night. i'm not sure if they won or lost to be honest :) but it was fun and we had treat duties for after the game. in case you were wondering, 8 year old boys love their gatorade and chips. 

thursday was thatcher's and my 20th dating anniversary. holy wow! it's hard to believe it's been that long, but i am proud of us for making it this far. i wrote a post about the beginning of our relationship a few years ago. did we do anything to celebrate? why yes...we all went to azalea's 6th grade night at her new middle school. ha! we walked with sisi's family....in the rain...for an all outdoor event. the principal, assistant principal, and a few other staff members spoke to the group. then they split up the parents and kids for a little bit, and ended with popcicles. azalea has to submit her preferences for elective classes this week. it's starting to feel so real! i'm sad she is almost done with elementary school, but it's so fun watching her grow up and i'm so excited for this new chapter. 

friday morning one of ashford's friends came over before school because his mom needed to be somewhere at drop off time. ashford had his field trip to the locks. it was forecasted to rain, but i think it stayed dry for most of it. it always feels like we are never gonna have consistency nice weather at this point in the spring. i met my friend vanessa in the morning for coffee and croissants at besalu bakery by my house. friday night we made tacos and watched a movie with the kids. 

saturday morning azalea and i took a trip to the library. it was a beautiful sunny morning. in the afternoon, ashford had another baseball game. they definitely won that one. ashford's friend raleigh came over after the game. in the evening, i met up with my friends at 'cactus' in south lake union for dinner. we went there 7 years ago, which was one of the first get togethers we had. our group has grown and shrunk in the last 7 years, but i'm so thankful i met these ladies.

 thatcher and the kids went to mod pizza for dinner and watched a movie. my friend meredith stayed over night at our house, so she didn't have to go all the way back to bainbridge island. 

sunday marked 7 years of living in seattle for us. these anniversaries are really stacking up! we love our life here and have no plans to leave, but i don't think the midwest pull will ever go away for me. who knows what the future will bring, but this will continue to be our home for the foreseeable future. we made waffles for breakfast, then i took meredith to the ferry terminal. ashford's friend arlo came over in the afternoon and azalea had her last soccer game of the season. they got their butts kicked ;)

this week = crazy again. car maintenance, field trip for azalea, doctors appts, hair cut for ashford, our wedding anniversary, baseball game, school carnival friday night. i'm already tired just thinking about it :)
