back to the routine, moveathon fundraiser, ikea shelf glow up

i can't believe it's already may! my mom comes to visit later this week, there's 7 weeks left of school, and in less than 2 months we will be in europe! wild...

it was nice to get back to our regular routine last week. it allowed me to catch up on some stuff that went to the wayside for 2 weeks and i got to volunteer in ashford's class again. his teacher and i determined that the 30 min time slot goes too quickly, so i'm starting to go for 60 minutes twice a week.

a few random things from the last week...

new living room lamp i found at ross. i know, i've been on a roll with buying lamps lately ;)

new madewell tennis shoes from nordstrom rack. i'm always reaching for my target (fashion) athletic shoes over any other type of shoe, so i thought i could use another option.

i tried a new snack this week that i saw on social media. fresh mango with tajin seasoning. the perfect mix of sweet and spicy.

in pre-covid times, the kids' school had a big auction every spring with a dinner, etc. they have since gotten rid of the event and this year replaced it with a moveathon fundraiser during school hours. i did not volunteer at the event, but i could hear it all day from our house ;) the kids had a blast!

friday after school the kids played outside with friends for hours. it was the nicest day we've had for a while. then we picked up mod pizza for dinner and watched a movie.

saturday morning ashford's baseball game was rained out, which is a bummer because he missed the first one due to covid. and it ended up being a beautiful afternoon! my project on saturday morning was adding legs to this ikea shelf that we've had for the last 8 years. thatcher helped me and it took less than 30 minutes. i wanted to give it some new life, and i think i succeeded. i love the way it looks!

ashford hung out with his friend arlo all afternoon. we made tacos for dinner and watched another movie.

sunday was another low-key day. we ran some errands, did some cleaning, and the kids played with friends at the school playground.
