thrifting find, summer travel plans, busy weekend

last tuesday i went shopping with vanessa (yes, we go a lot) ;) we went to a value village in lynnwood and i found this gold lamp base for $3. i thought i recognized it from target and i was right. they currently sell it there for $22. i love when that happens! i used a shade i already owned.

the cherry tree behind our building was at peak bloom last week. it's always so pretty. before we know it, the cherries will arrive...and so will the raccoons!

for almost a year now, we've been talking about booking a trip to prague to visit anders, nith, and our new nephew moss. they are living there for 2 years for anders' state department job. we finally took the plunge last week and bought plane tickets. the four of us will be going in june for two weeks the monday after the kids get out of school. we are hoping to make it to vienna by train as well. we are so excited! it's been 16 years since thatcher and i traveled to europe and this will be the kids' first time. we made sure to purchase travel insurance with the way things are in the world these days, but we are hopeful that all will go smoothly. we got a celebratory treat after dropping off our passport paperwork last week.

we had another busy weekend here. friday after school, the kids and i went to kay, wyatt, and fritz's house. we didn't have anything planned for dinner, so we ended up staying for pizza and didn't get home til after 9pm. wild friday night for us ;) saturday morning ashford had baseball practice, which thatcher took him to. azalea had a futsal game and we went to the library and mabel coffee shop before. the kids played with simone and thelonius for most of the afternoon. then i took ashford to get a birthday present for fritz. we got thai takeout for dinner, then i met my friend beth at hotel albatross in our neighborhood for drinks (and french fries). it was nice to catch up with her and to see the restaurant doing so well after being closed for a lot of the pandemic.

sunday morning we dropped off ashford for fritz's birthday party. they took a few boys to 'flying circus', which is a trampoline park. ashford had never been there before and he thought it was the greatest place ever. after we picked him up, he had a hair cut appointment. azalea was supposed to have her first spring soccer game of the season on sunday night. but after a very full weekend and windy + rainy weather, we decided just to skip it. we relaxed the rest of the night and got ready for a new week.
