spooky season has arrived

happy october! we have entered the most festive three months of year and i am ready for it! our work/school week was pretty typical. soccer practices, errands, after school play dates, etc. i was planning to put up our halloween decorations on october 1st, but the kids talked me into doing it the day before. twist my arm!

thatcher was busy for most of friday and saturday with the opening of three new light rail stations in seattle. these are stations that he never imagined he would see opened when we first moved here six years ago, so it's extra special. friday night the kids and i watched 'casper' and had popcorn by the glow of our festive lights.

saturday morning azalea had a game at salmon bay field. they played another powerhouse team and lost again. they are 2-2 now.

in the afternoon ashford was invited to go to 'fox hollow farm' with his friend arlo and his family. it's about 45 minutes out of the city. it was so nice of them to take him and he had a great time. i know i've been saying it a lot lately, but i'm so proud of his new-found independence. now if only he would go back to not being super daring on the playground. haha. azalea and i had our own little date in ballard. we got ice cream at 'salt and straw'. i got the seasonal special - pumpkin bread flavored.

then we stopped in a couple shops.

i love ballard in the fall. these yellow leaves make me so happy.

we watched another movie saturday night after every one was back home.

sunday we had no plans, we grocery shopped and cleaned the house in anticipation of thatcher's parents arriving later this week. we are excited!
