baseball games and my second covid vaccine

we had a baseball-filled week here! ashford had practice monday night and then tuesday night was finally their first game of the season. our little perfectionist was pretty nervous for it and kept asking us "but what if i mess up?" it's just for fun, buddy :) he (and the rest of his team) ended up doing great! most of them still don't really know the rules, so they had to be told what to do, but it was super cute. the other team was more skilled (they were mostly second graders) and our team ended up losing, but it was so fun to watch. ashford even got 2 hits! (it's supposed to be machine pitch, but the coaches did the pitching).

on wednesday at lunch time we met vanessa and ewan at sunset hill park for a picnic. my new favorite spot! and as a bonus, there was almost no one else there.

in the afternoon i had an appointment for my second covid shot. this time i went to the microsoft headquaters in redmond, where there was a community vaccination site. it was a totally different experience than going to walgreens. it was a huge operation and really cool to experience. my arm got sore after the shot, i had super vivid dreams that night, and woke up feeling a little more tired/spacey than normal. by 10am the day after i felt super fatigued. i laid low all day, took a nap in the late afternoon and after that i felt back to normal. more than worth it for the protection it provides me and others. i can't wait to hug my friends and go to the gym in a couple weeks.

friday while the kids were at school, i picked up coffee with my friend allison and we came back to my house to visit on the deck. on the way there, i came across this pinkalicious spot on our street.

friday night we made dinner and then watched harry potter #7 (part 1).

saturday we hung out at home in the morning and then in the afternoon ashford had another baseball game. i didn't take any pictures at this one, but he did great again and they won by 1 run. they played for over 2 hours! saturday night we watched the last harry potter movie.

sunday we spent the morning at home then thatcher took the kids to salmon bay park to meet up with on of ashford's buddies and his dad. i cleaned and got groceries and then took azalea to her soccer game in shoreline. her team got pummeled, but it was a nice day for a game. we ended the weekend with homemade pizza and early bed time. :)
