the final week of remote school and easter celebrations

i mentioned in my last post that the kids had no live instruction monday-wednesday last week while the teachers prepped for the kids returning to the building.

monday we had a lazy morning then the kids did some school work. in the afternoon they played with the neighbors for a couple hours outside and then we all walked down to salt and straw for ice cream. yum!

my mom sent this cute towel for easter

the spring weather is inspiring me to make some fresh salads and snacks lately.

on saturday ashford had a small birthday gathering for his friend fritz in his backyard. i went with him and we ended up hanging out for 3 hours because it was so nice out - 63 and sunny! fritz's dad grilled burgers and the kids played some party games and played the nintendo switch on the patio. thatcher and azalea went to south seattle to look at one of thatcher's work projects and to get a treat.

sunday was easter. the bunny came over night, so there were happy kiddos in our house that morning.

here is the cute letter azalea wrote the easter bunny:

we made pancakes, bacon, and hashbrowns for breakfast. i took the kids to fred meyer to get new shoes for school. :) the rest of the day we just relaxed at home. at one point thatcher, azalea, and i were all reading on the couch and it made me so happy.

for dinner, we made pulled pork in the crock pot. i was craving baked mac n cheese, so i made a pan of that and we also had potatoes/carrots and homemade rolls. it was so good!

we also packed the kids' backpacks, filled out paperwork, and reviewed our new schedule for the return to school. i can't believe it's finally here!
