unkie brandon's visit and thanksgiving break

sorry for the long silence over here, we've been busy and i decided to wait until my brother headed back to minneapolis and thanksgiving was over to write this post. we had a really great time with him over the last 5 days and we are sad to see him go.

the kids were off school all week, so it was nice that he got to spend extra time with them. i had to work each morning, but we had a good mix of activities and lazy time at home during the week.

the night he arrived, we went to "the boars nest" for bbq, which has become a tradition :) monday we went to "top pot" for donuts and took the kids to salmon bay school to play soccer. it rained on us, but we still had fun.

tuesday morning we built/decorated gingerbread houses. they were a huge pain to put together, but the decorating part was fun.

that afternoon we went to see "frozen 2" in the theater. i wasn't sure what to expect, but it was fantastic! i thought it was so well done. i loved the story line, the music, the humor, everything.

wednesday we went to "scooters burgers and shakes" for lunch (unkie's first time there). it was filling and delish. then we drove to alderwood mall and let the kids play at funtastic playtorium while brandon and i traded off doing a little christmas shopping. win-win. i guess i didn't take any pictures this day.

thursday was thanksgiving! we spent the whole day at home and while it got long at times, it was nice. in the morning we watched the macy's parade and colored turkey pictures.

thatcher and i made a huge turkey dinner for the 5 of us. it's always so much work and a bit stressful when things aren't ready at the same time, but i still love it! it was our first holiday with our new, bigger table and it made me so happy to have the extra space. i even did a tablescape!

here we are in all of our thanksgiving glory

we actually put our christmas tree up right after dinner. i've never done that on thanksgiving before, but thanksgiving is so late this year, i just couldn't wait any longer! i'll save those pictures for my next post. stay tuned :)

hope you had a good thanksgiving. i'm so happy the most wonderful time of year is here once again.
