spring weather, layover visitor, richmond beach

i think we can officially call it spring now. it's been sunny (for the most part) and getting warmer by the day (60s over the weekend and a shot at 70 early this week!) and i am a happy camper! this past week was a little slower pace than the last two and that was nice as well.

on wednesday after school ashford and i went to the zoo with vanessa and ewan.

azalea's classroom had this awesome banner for kindness week :) she also got to go on a field trip to pike place market on thursday. #seattlekids

we've been going out without jackets - wahoo!

friday night we hung out at home. saturday morning azalea and i went to "michaels" to get some decorations for her birthday party next week. pretty safe the say she loves everything in that store. ha! in the afternoon, i headed to the airport to pick up my friend karen who had a 4 hour layover on her way back to minneapolis from dubai! i love when this happens and i get a last minute visit from friends :) as much as i wanted to bring her back to ballard and show her our hood, it was going to be too much time driving, so we opted to go to west seattle instead and have lunch on the water. we went to "marination", which i had heard about but never been to. it is korean/hawaiin fusion. yes, you read that right. we sat on the patio and enjoyed tacos and a cocktail and it was heaven!

it was such a clear day, the downtown skyline looked gorgeous.

here's a grainy picture of karen and me. she was my boss right out of college and we were also neighbors and went to the same church. it was so nice to catch up with her.

we made breakfast for dinner (eggs, bacon, and biscuits) and hung out at home the rest of the night.

sunday morning azalea and i ran errands in ballard and went to "venture coffee."

in the afternoon we all went to "richmond beach" in shoreline. we hadn't been in a long time, so it was nice to be back. it was around 60 degrees but the wind was really strong and it felt really cold on the beach.

luckily the playground, which is up the hill from the water felt much better. it has the prettiest view!

we hung out at home the rest of the night. it's so nice to have sunny, bright evenings now!

I'm so looking forward to not wearing coats! The day we reach 70s I'm throwing a party, haha! We're low to mid 50s this week and I'm so excited.
