back in the swing of things

i spent the first few days after returning from florida feeling like a chicken with its head cut off! the kids went back to school and my schedule was packed with work stuff, board stuff, and appointments. whew! i don't have many pictures to share, but lots of words apparently.

wednesday the kids went to school and i caught up on book keeping work. in the evening, i had my monthly board meeting for the inc. we usually end around 9:15pm, but this night we had some extra business to take care of, so i didn't get home until 10:30pm. i felt like a complete zombie because i was jet lagged as well!

thursday morning i volunteered at the coworking space as community cultivator because we are short-staffed at the moment. i also coordinated with my company's business manager to make sure we have everything covered while she goes on vacation for a week. in the afternoon, vanessa and ewan came over to hang out. we missed them so! thursday night i had a 2nd grade moms happy hour on the calendar and as much as i love going to those, i decided to hit the gym for the first time in almost 2 weeks and go to bed early. it felt so good!

friday morning i was back at the coworking space to sit in on an interview for our program manager position. i also worked with my company's ceo to wrap up some business before the weekend. after preschool, ashford's buddy callum came over for a play date. ashford and callum play so well together. it's honestly easier than having just ashford here. after we returned callum to his dad and picked up azalea from school, it was off to ashford's 5 year check up (a couple months late...). i'm so thankful for my healthy boy. he is now 43 inches tall and weighs 40 pounds. gaining on his sister! friday night we relaxed at home and it felt great after a crazy few days.

saturday morning i went to the gym and then headed to "the dane" to do some book keeping work and have lunch with myself. the lunch part was great, but i didn't end up getting any work done because my computer would not connect to their wifi. this happens every so often at coffee shops, even ones i frequent. super frustrating! thatcher and the kids went up to the field at ballard community center to fly a drone he got from his grandpa. i forgot to mention on here that thatcher spent last weekend in colorado springs, visiting his grandpa for his 95th birthday. i'm so glad he could do that. in the afternoon, i took azalea to the library and ashford and thatcher got groceries.

there was art on display from azalea's elementary school

that evening azalea and i attended the "jamboree" family party at her school. it was a pajama party with food vendors, games, face painting, etc. we could not convince my little homebody ashford to go, so he stayed home with thatcher. maybe next year he will be more into it when it's his school too ;) azalea had a blast running around with her friends and even requested that i not follow her around the whole time. she's getting so big!

sunday morning we all went to rei. thatcher shopped and i hung out with the kids in the treehouse play area. in the afternoon he went to a coffee shop to work for a while and i took the kids to sandel park in greenwood. it was sunny and 46 degrees. it's been sunny all week and feels so nice, but after being in florida i'm definitely missing warm weather. at least i got to read my book a bit.

we closed out the weekend with a sunday night at home. it's another busy week this week, but this week showed me i'll get through it!
