favorite outfits of late

guess who's back, back again?! i haven't done an outfit post since last january, so it was time. i've been continuing to tweak my wardrobe (buying stuff, yes, but also getting rid of stuff) ;) as you can see the outfits go from winter stuff to more summery stuff. it's been hot in seattle since we got back (upper 80's. not the norm at all), so i've been mostly wearing shorts, tanks, dresses, and skirts lately. no complaints about that!

here is a rundown of each outfit above:

1. i've written about old navy swing dresses before and i still maintain that they are the best. super comfy and flattering. they have long sleeved ones and short-sleeved ones (only see short sleeved and sleeveless right now). the price is right. i usually buy them on sale for $14-17. leggings are my beloved zellas that are currently on sale for the nordstrom anniversary sale! i bought this bag from target's hearth and home collection as a back up for my other large purse. it doesn't look like it's available online anymore.

2. i love the color combo in this one. the striped top is old navy boy friend (no longer available). it's sort of in between a sweater and a regular shirt, and i love the way it drapes. green jeans are old navy rockstars. i've had them a couple years and might get a new pair because they've faded, but i love them. booties were a clearance find from dsw and they are really cute, but i haven't worn them a ton because you can't wear socks with them and they have a bit more of a heel than i like for every day wear.

3. this crochet top is aerie brand (and might be a swim suit cover up? ha!). the only downside is i've snagged it on my kitchen cabinets many times and stretched out the lacing. the jacket i've had had for 3 years and is fading. i just found a replacement that looks brand new from goodwill. jeans are old navy rockstars. shoes were purchased from an online boutique years ago. they are very cute, but not so comfy.

4. black button down top is from target. i don't see it online anymore. it's really stretchy and has a high-low fit. green jeans are old navy rockstars. ankle boots are from h&m and are a couple years old now and have seen better days. i may replace them this year.

5. blue/white tunic is from old navy. i don't see it online anymore, but here is a similar one. sometimes i feel like shirts can hang awkwardly, so tying a little knot can be an easy way to fix that! jeans are old navy rockstars. shoes are slip on sperrys that i got from nordstrom a couple years ago and have only worn like 10 times. at least they stay in good condition! ;)

6. gray top is from nordstrom a couple years ago. it's seen better days, but i can't let go of it just yet. white jeans are articles of society from nordstrom. i haven't bought many pants there because i'm pretty cheap, but i got them on sale a couple years ago and love them. i also don't wear them a ton since they aren't practical for every day. slip on canvas shoes are soda brand (I think they were $20 at fred meyer) and i swear they are the best shoes ever - they have memory foam padding. so comfy!

7. striped dress is from old navy via goodwill. i bought it this winter and couldn't wait for it to be warm enough to wear it. it's linen, has a tie waist, and the vertical stripes are so flattering. tan cardigan is from h&m. brown double strap sandals are from old navy, but i retired them at the beginning of the summer because they were so worn out.

8. the grayish/blue dress i got from buffalo exchange. it doesn't have a tag inside, so i have no idea where it's from. you can't see in the picture, but it has really cute detailing around the edges. coral denim jacket is from old navy and while i don't wear it as much as my regular one, it's fun to wear once in a while for a pop of color. same double strap sandals as last picture.

9. white vneck shirt is from target (only $8!). denim jacket is from old navy via goodwill. it's so stretchy and comfortable! and i've found that cuffing the sleeves makes it feel more like a shirt than a jacket. black pants are from old navy. they don't have those exact ones anymore, but these are similar. same brown sandals. (see? i wore them a lot!)

10. black tank is from target (also only $8!). same denim jacket as last pic (i was wear it a lot in the early summer!). floral skirt was a target clearance find. it sort of reminds me of grandma curtains, but i like it :) canvas slip ons are same as above. i don't often wear skirts and tennis shoes, but i was feeling it this particular day.

11. tie front tank is from target, but it's not online anymore. i fell in love with their universal thread brand this spring. everything looks like madewell, but for a fraction of the price. i have this tank in navy as well and it's so easy to wear. the chambray shorts are also from target. i love that they look like denim, but a just a little more dressy. the brown sandals were my replacements for this summer. they are suede and though they've gotten a little dirty, i've been really happy with them. this whole outfit is so simple, but i find i love those outfits the best.

12. finally, the last outfit! the gray tank was from a boutique in ballard the first summer we lived here. it's getting close to being retired because i've worn it so much. the white skirt was also a target clearance find. it's not too see-thru but i have to be careful which underwear i wear with it ;) it's nice and light weight. and those are the same brown suede sandals.

until next time!
