a pretty chill november week

it was a fairly quiet week last week. no soccer practices for azalea. my foot continued to heal, but i wasn't allowed to go to the gym all week. so i used that time to do my other cardio...shopping :) i actually got a couple christmas gifts purchased. i also booked our february trip to florida. after the holidays are over, it always helps me to have something to look forward to.

last thursday evening i went out for happy hour at 'rays' with some moms of ashford's friends who are my friends too. all of these ladies attended my 40th birthday and i'm so thankful for their friendships. it will be sad next year if the boys potentially go to different middle schools. we had a great time chatting over drinks and french fries :)

while we were there i learned that a bunch of ashford's friends are playing on a basketball team this winter and two of their dads are coaching. they did this last year too, but ashford did not want to participate. this time, i was able to convince him to give it a chance and now he's signed up. the season is from january-march and all practices and games are at the boys and girls club in our neighborhood. i'm really excited for him. i also signed him up for spring baseball last week, which won't start until march.

friday was the kids' last day of school before the week-long break for conferences and thanksgiving. ashford had sports club after school. we made spaghetti for dinner and then azalea and thatcher watched a movie downstairs and ashford and i watched a movie upstairs.

saturday morning thatcher made us pumpkin pancakes and bacon. my favorite! we hung out at home for most of the day. in the afternoon, thatcher drove ashford and fritz to their friend trent's for a sleepover. azalea, sisi, and i went to check out the grand opening event at 'kurfunkle kids' on ballard ave. i also went in a bunch of other shops, but didn't get anything. later thatcher, azalea, and i had dinner date to 'pestle rock' for thai. i had been dreaming of the kao soi dish i had there last time. it's so delicious! we picked up a little dessert from the grocery store on the way home.

sunday morning thatcher went up to the property very early to get some final work done before winter sets it (yes, they have more typical winter weather there). so, it was just azalea and me for the morning. we went to the library and bartells before ashford got dropped off back at home. he had fun at his sleepover, but he was super tired per usual! he had plans to hang out with arlo in the afternoon (not ideal, oops). azalea and i hung out at home and made cupcakes. thatcher got back in the evening, and we relaxed the rest of the night.

it's officially the start of thanksgiving break. we have two conferences today and i still have to buy some of our ingredients for our turkey dinner feast. thatcher's parents arrive tomorrow night. and on friday we're going to cut down a tree for the first time since living in minnesota. can't wait!
