hello from the other side of covid
last monday was another day at home. ashford spent a little time at the playground with arlo (who also recently had covid) and i ran an errand in the afternoon (masked), but that was it. the days were starting to wear on us, but we had more to go. after thatcher and i went on our evening walk, i decided to test myself again because my nose was feeling a little stuffy and my test was finally positive. i'm glad i didn't feel any sicker, but man was i over this sickness in the house. when you have 4 people who can potentially get it, it feels like it goes on and on because you test positive at different times.
tuesday through thursday was more of the same. we were all bored and tired of looking at each other ;) ashford went to arlo's for a while in the afternoon on tuesday. thatcher finally developed symptoms on tuesday but was still testing negative. of course he had it. he had been working from home since the week before just in case. i took ashford to elliot bay park thursday afternoon to get out.
friday we were all feeling back to normal, wahoo! while i'm thankful our symptoms were very mild; this was not how i expected or wanted to spend 1/3 of the month of august. after thatcher finished up work, we all walked to mod pizza for dinner and sat outside. it felt so good! then thatcher and i finished up the last episode of 'bbq showdown' on netflix :)
saturday morning we made waffles, eggs, and bacon for breakfast. thatcher and i had our coffee on the deck.
we spent most of the day at home, we're still organizing the bins we brought back from minneapolis. we also hung some pictures we brought back.
after dinner, thatcher and i walked down to the locks. it was the the most magical night there! there were harbor seals with whole fish in their mouths, sea gulls swooping down to steal the fish, and tons of salmon in the salmon ladder and jumping in the bay.
