camp week, cabin prep weekend

i mentioned the kids went back to boys and girls club last week, which was much needed for everyone's sanity. :) it felt like fall all week....50's/60's and rainy. i know this is seattle, but that's a bit much for august! i have almost no pictures from the week, but oh well.

last monday i felt like i was in turbo mode. after i dropped the kids off, i went to the gym and then the grocery store and the library. i finished invoicing for work and did a bunch of cleaning. it's amazing how much i can accomplish when i get a few hours to myself. after camp, ashford hung out with fritz and arlo for a while. 7-11 and water balloons kept them busy!

tuesday morning vanessa and i had a date to northgate to do a little shopping. poor azalea...her camp group went to a water/amusement park for the day, which is the big end of summer field trip, but it was in the 60s and raining. i think that happened last year too. oh summer in seattle. they still had fun!

wednesday i had lunch with my friends rebekah and kay at 'hattie's hat' for rebekah's birthday...it was a makeup lunch after we had to cancel a couple weeks ago.

thursday i took 8 bags of donations to goodwill. whew!

friday vanessa and i had another shopping date - this time to costco. wahoo! it rained all day and didn't even reach 60 degrees. what the heck! we ended the week by watching 'migration' with the kids. we hadn't watched a movie as a family in months!

saturday morning i went to the gym and the grocery store to get stuff for our cabin trip. in the afternoon, fritz came over for a few hours to hang out with ashford, sisi came over to hang out with azalea, thatcher went down to south seattle to see some friends, and i stayed home and packed. in the evening, i met up with a few friends to go to the 'sloop tavern' for dinner + drinks and some live music. we only ended up staying there for 30 minutes because the music was really loud (and frankly, bad) and they were only serving two items on their menu. womp womp. kay, liz, and i decided to ditch and go to ''lockspot cafe' across the street instead. which was a much better choice and ended up being a really fun evening.

azalea has her last virtual babysitting class this morning and then we are heading to the cabins at silver lake for the next 3 nights. our last little getaway of the summer.
