so many playoff games, soccer season ends, the home stretch of school
last week we lived and breathed baseball (well mostly ashford and i did). it's going to feel weird/sad when the season is done.
last tuesday night ashford had practice. they added a couple more to the schedule since his team had a bye week for the tournament.
wednesday evening ashford and i went to watch fritz's next playoff game (in the rain, no less!), which they won, so that was exciting.
thursday evening ashford had another practice. they did a homerun derby with tennis balls and ashford was the last kid to bat and he won the team donuts at their next game. they all jumped around him and cheered, it was pretty cute.
friday ashford and i went to another playoff game to watch his friends raleigh and starryn's team. i know going to all these games seems a bit crazy, but they are right in our neighborhood, and we really do enjoy it. we get to hang out with friends and cheer his buddies on. plus, the weather actually got nice again at the end of the week. for a couple days...
saturday morning i slept in til 8:15! can't remember the last time i did that. my body always wakes me up by 6:45-7:15 normally. we had no plans in the morning, so we just lounged around and then azalea and i went shopping at ross. my little teeny bopper wanted a new mini backpack purse. i love her!
in the afternoon azalea and her friend bridget headed out to watch simone in another rock show. ashford finally had his next playoff game, which was against his friends raleigh and starryn's team. it was really close the entire game and they ended up winning 4-2, which was really exciting. they've now sinched their spot in the championship game on june 8th. i promise ashford was enjoying his donut, despite the face...
we relaxed at home for the rest of the day. we made burgers for dinner and watched the movie 'wonka'.
sunday was another sleep in morning. thatcher made us french toast and bacon for breakfast. thatcher went to a community event in the morning and then took azalea to "mox" board game store/cafe. azalea also had her last soccer game of the season in NE seattle. it was a very wet day, but they were playing on turf. it rained during the game, but it wasn't too terrible compared to games we've been to before. her team won 4-1. as the years go on, i wouldn't say soccer is a strong passion of hers, but she has fun with her team and coach and is a solid player.
we hung out at home the rest of the evening.
now it's june and we are in our last 3 weeks of school and soon after that leaving on our road trip to minnesota. i can't believe it! now we just need to summer weather to match!
