lots of baseball, 7th grade dance, first spring soccer game

last monday night ashford had a game against the team his friends raleigh and starryn are on. it was fun to hang out with their parents on the bleachers like old times. ashford's team won 9-3. he got another hit, but they got him out at first base. i'm really proud of his progress with hitting this season. after getting hit by a pitch last year, he's spent most of the time not swinging in hopes of getting walked, but i think he's remembering how exciting it is to get a hit.

tuesday night ashford had baseball practice. so much baseball. ;)

wednesday ashford had his friend starryn over after school. in the evening i took ashford and arlo to karate. after dinner, i met my friend beth for drinks (and more food) at 'baker's cocktail bar' in our neighborhood. everything we got there was so good, and it was nice to catch up with her!

friday azalea had her middle school dance from 1:30-3:30 during the school day. it was the last day of school before spring break. we found her a cute new dress at ross and she was excited for the dance because she had a great time last year. she's getting more grown up by the day!

ashford and i got invited our friends lynsey/raleigh's house for mom happy hour/kid play date with kay and fritz. it was fun to catch up with them. when we got back, i picked up take out from 'uneeda burger' for dinner and we lounged on the couch the rest of the night.

saturday we had no plans, which hadn't been the case on a weekend day in a while. i prefer having plans over no plans, but when we have enough going on this time of year, i appreciate having a no-plans day. i went to the gym in the morning and azalea and i went to the library. we spent the rest of the day at home. the weather wasn't the nicest this week. azalea went to sisi's for a sleepover, so the evening was just thatcher, ashford, and me. we made dinner and watched 'big'. it was ashford's first time and thatcher and i hadn't seen it in many many years.

sunday morning we made waffles and homemade sausage patties. i worked on packing and went to the grocery store because the kids and i are heading to a cabin with vanessa, matt, and ewan for a few days this week over spring break. azalea had her first spring soccer game of the season in shoreline. it was  little chilly, but not terrible. her team won 6-5 (or they tied 5-5, it was unclear), but either way a good start to the off-season.

we are looking forward to a few days of fun and relaxation with friends!
