last tuesday i took cheryl to goodwill during the day :) in the evening, durant and cheryl got to see ashford in action at karate, which was fun.
wednesday we went to top pot donuts and ross. we like to hit all the ballard hot spots :) cheryl and i even got to spend some time on the deck because the sun came out. that night ashford had baseball practice, so grandma and grandpa got to watch. durant took some great pictures of ashford during the week.
thursday morning i took durant and cheryl to the airport. we were sad to see them go, but thankfully we'll see them again in less than 4 months in minnesota. i forgot to get any pictures of them with the kids. oops! azalea's friend penny came over after school to work on a project with her and stayed for dinner.
friday the weather started to get really nice. it was 60 and sunny, so i had my friends kay and lynsey over for happy hour on the deck. i made a whipped feta dip for the first time and it was so good!
ashford, fritz, and raleigh came over after their after-school sports class. it was a quick turnaround before they all headed back to school for 'parents night out'. it turns into a marathon day for them, but they insist on doing all the things! thatcher was at the property all day, and wasn't back at dinner time, so azalea and i walked down to 'sunny teriyaki' in our neighborhood for the first time. it was a good spot. then we watched '10 things i hate about you.' she has already seen it once before and it's one of my favorite movies from my teen years. thatcher got home just before 9pm and we picked up ashford then too.
saturday morning everyone slept in. they were forecasting sunny and 70 degrees for the day, which was super exciting. it actually got up to 74! i spent most of the day at home. thatcher took ashford to baseball practice in the afternoon. azalea played outside with a bunch of neighbor kids and ashford joined them when he got back. it felt like summer - but with everyone in town! i did a lot of reading on my deck.
we made pizza for dinner and watched 'young sheldon.'
sunday was another beautiful day! i think it got to 70 again. every one slept in again and we made a dutch baby (first time!) and eggs and bacon for breakfast. thatcher and i enjoyed our coffee on the deck. that is one of my favorite parts of summer. later i took azalea to ross and goodwill to look for a dress for her school dance on 4/5 :) we had success! ashford spent some time at the park with friends. i did a bunch more reading. the deck even got too hot in the afternoon. we cooked dinner and ended the weekend with 'young sheldon.'
we are getting a couple more nice days before the rain/cold returns. i'm gonna soak it up!
