new phone, first baseball game, azalea's friend party
last monday night ashford had baseball practice. it was a beautiful night for it. the cherry blossoms are really starting to bloom now.
tuesday i decided to stop into a 'great clips' to get my hair trimmed. i hadn't had it cut in a year and wasn't looking for a big change, so i decided to just go the economical route. it feels nice and fresh again. they do not style it, so it looks like it does every other day of my life ;)
tuesday evening arlo's mom took ashford and arlo to karate.
wednesday was back to normal seattle spring weather - gray and 50 degrees. the sun/warmth was nice while it lasted. in other news, my phone has been having a really hard time charging for the past week (it would only charge if i held the charger in place or put pressure on it and sometimes not even then). i've had it for 3.5 years and that's about how much time i get out of my androids, so i went to the t-mobile store to get a replacement. i ended up getting a 'oneplus nord n30'. i had never heard of 'oneplus' but the sales guy said this phone was the best one at the price point i was considering, so i went with it. i spent a lot of the afternoon getting it set up the way i want it. i'm excited to have a new, better camera too! ashford had fritz over to hang out after school. they've been really into riding their bikes at the park lately, which is great.
thursday i got a new little lamp for our kitchen counter. we've had mini lights around our kitchen window for a couple years, but they burn out often, so i was wanting an alternative. we have really ugly florescent lighting in our kitchen and having some sort of accent light is much more appealing. i found this tiny lamp at michael's and it works perfectly! now to keep it from getting spilled on ;)
after school i took ashford to 'big 5' to get new cleats, socks, and a belt for his first baseball game on saturday.
friday ashford had his last after-school sports club class of the year. we got burgers, fries, and shakes from 'dick's drive in' for dinner and watched 'ruby gillman, teenage kraken' which was cute.
saturday morning thatcher left early to go up to the property to plant the rest of the plants he didn't get to last weekend. he also finished building a picnic table and brought it up there. he sent me this picture. it's beautiful!
the kids slept in and i picked up bagels from 'old salt' for breakfast because azalea has been requesting them for a while. it was a rainy morning and we lounged around waiting to hear if ashford's game would be cancelled. i thought for sure it would be, but it turns out since they were playing on a turf field, they will still play in rain. it was cloudy and 50 degrees at the time of the game. they played for two hours. ashford's team was ahead the entire game until the last inning and they ended up losing 7-11. so that was a bummer. but he has lots more games to come.
