thatcher in denver, lunch dates, super bowl

 last tuesday morning thatcher left our house at 3am to uber to the airport for his flight to denver. he had a multi-day conference planning meeting for the transit conference he helps plan each year. that evening i took ashford and arlo to karate. 

thursday evening the kids and i had dinner out with kay, wyatt, and fritz. kay's husband was out of town as well, so it was a perfect night for a mom & kid dinner date. we walked down to 'lockspot cafe' and the service was slow per usual, but the food was great, and we had fun. 

friday evening thatcher got back in town. we missed him! we had leftovers for dinner and watched 'young sheldon' on netflix with the kids. it's our new everyone-enjoys-it-show. we are on season 2. 

saturday morning ashford had his friend raleigh's birthday party, which was laser tag and pizza at woodland park.

while the boys were at the party, rebekah and i walked around nearby green lake and had lunch at 'wooden city tavern''. it was the most beautiful day for it. while we were gone, thatcher and azalea had their own lunch date at 'monkey bridge'. thatcher sent me this picture of them and i absolutely adore it. our almost teen :) 

we hung out at home the rest of the day. made greek chicken gyros for dinner and watched 'harry potter 7, pt. 1'

sunday morning we had a big breakfast and then azalea and i went to target and the library. we had a very lazy afternoon at home. we watched all 4 hours of the super bowl. ha! it's the only football game i watch each year. it's nice because it's on at 3:30 pm here. it was fun to see taylor swift in the crowd and usher's half time show put a huge smile on my face. 

we are one week out from florida now. i'm constantly checking the weather there and mentally packing. most importantly, i can't wait to spend time with my mom and brother.
