seattle re-entry

 i'm not going to lie, coming back to our regular routine and gray skies/rain and 30s and 40s was a bit painful after our brief trip to summer. i know we were once used to minnesota winters, but we've acclimated to what winter is like here after almost 8 years and while it isn't frigid, it sure isn't 80 and sunny either. ;) 

last wednesday ashford had been complaining that his ear hurt since we got back in town, so i took him to the doctor. turns out he has swimmers ear from all his water fun in florida. they prescribed us some drops and sent us on our way. in the afternoon he had a check up at the orthodontist. he got a great report on his expander and invisalign so that was nice to hear. he's been so responsible about wearing his retainer and i'm really proud of him. we don't have to go back for 8 weeks.

the rest of the week was pretty anti-climactic, hence the lack of pictures. friday after school ashford's friend arlo came over and then his mom stopped by after work to have a little wine date with me. after they left and thatcher got home, we made dinner and watched a movie. 

saturday morning azalea and i ran some errands together and got starbucks. i may have turned her into a frappucino monster :) at least i order it decaf. in the afternoon ashford's friend trent came over for a couple hours. that included me taking them to 7-11 to get slurpees and flamin' hot cheetos. my kids were a picture of health this weekend. ha! 

 

we made pizza for dinner and watched a movie to end the night. 

sunday morning thatcher made his awesome lemon sourdough waffles for the first time in forever. we zoomed with my mom and brother and lounged around all morning.  in the afternoon ashford went to arlo's house. i barely left the house all day and it was nice to have nothing else to do but read my book and watch 'daisy jones and the six' on prime. i'm happy that azalea's allergies are totally gone now and so is ashford's ear pain.

this week i'm volunteering at the book fair at ashford's school (the first one since 2019).
