friday night swim, baseball pre-season, feeling purple

last wednesday thatcher woke up feeling sick. he definitely caught the same virus azalea had the week before. he was anxious to get better quickly as he has a work trip to california this week. he worked from home/rested the remainder of the week. wednesday evening registration opened for the boys and girls club summer camp that the kids have done the last few years. yes....on the first day of february. i signed azalea up for a week in july and both of them for a week in august with lots of weeks in between reserved for traveling to minneapolis. it's hard to wrap my head around thinking about summer already, but i'm sure it'll come fast. 

thursday i had a cleaning/check up at the dentist. not my favorite activity, but i survived ;) 

friday morning another camp's registration opened. it's a camp at ashford's school that they haven't had since 2019. i'm happy it's back! i signed him up for the same week in july that azalea is going to boys and girls club. friday evening i took azalea and simone to the ballard pool. simone had a swim class for the first 30 mins and then they did the open swim hour together. they have remained close at their new school, which is nice. 

 

 

saturday ashford was supossed to have a birthday party for his friend raleigh, but raleigh was sick so they rescheduled it for next weekend. i took azalea out to get some new school supplies for her second semester and new shoes. we also stopped at the library. our weekend routine :) we relaxed at home the rest of the day. we made a stir fry for dinner and watched "alone" with the kids. 

sunday morning thatcher was up early to head to the airport for his oakland work trip. ashford's friend arlo came over for a few hours. in the afternoon, ashford had a pre-season assessment for baseball. for his age group they want to make sure the teams are evenly matched. all kids get to play. i'm hopeful he will get to stay with his same coach and friends he has played with for the past 2 years. we should find out next week. 

 

 

we relaxed at home the rest of the evening and got take out from scooters for dinner. azalea has been asking for a while to dye the ends of her hair a different color. so we got some purple color depositing shampoo (lasts for 6 washes) and gave it a whirl. it came out pretty cute, somewhat subtle. maybe we will experiment a little more if she wants. she also looks pretty cute in those new kicks.

 

2 weeks til florida. we are ready!
