november vibes: spirit wear, festive holiday drinks, flu shots

with halloween falling on a monday this year, it made for a strange week last week. i never knew what day it was. all of my halloween decor is down now (i left out fall pumpkins, etc). i'm antsy to decorate for christmas, but i always wait until after thanksgiving or thatcher gets annoyed. haha! at least i have christmas music and movies to fill the void until then :) and thanksgiving, of course!

thatcher got back into town from miami late wednesday night. we missed him! he had a great time at the transit conference that he helped plan over the past year.

thursday morning kay and i spent 3 hours at school organizing the spirit wear t-shirt and sweatshirt order delivery. we had to sort it by type/size, then match the item to the family that ordered it, and finally make piles to deliver to each teacher to hand out to their students. it was a lot of work, but we felt super accomplished after. :) i love that my schedule allows me to do stuff like this at school.

friday morning i went to goodwill/dollar tree with vanessa. we also got our first starbucks holiday drink of the season :)

ashford and i went to kay's after school and she and i hung out while the boys played. azalea got invited to go to open swim time at the ballard pool with sisi and her dad. then she went back to their house after and had sushi and watched a movie. we picked her up at 10pm. big kid status!

saturday morning all 4 of us had an appointment to get a flu shot at bartells. it was a no tears year, so that is always nice! (the kids go back and forth each year with how they do). we all had a sore arm after, but it's worth it for the extra protection this winter. we still need to get our covid boosters. azalea and i stopped at the library after. in the afternoon i took ashford to get his hair cut. saturday evening ashford went to fritz's house for dinner and video games. i had plans to go to olaf's bar with a couple friends. it's 1 block away from our house, so super convenient. it ended up being really loud there and not ideal for chatting, but it was still fun.

sunday was daylight saving time. i was awake super early because of it, but the rest of my family managed to sleep in. we made pancakes for breakfast and lounged around all morning. it was dark and rainy. in the afternoon ashford went to arlo's house and i took azalea to her soccer game in shoreline. if i thought last week was cold, this week was really cold. it was 42 degrees and started getting dark part way through the game. they lost again. they only have 1 more regular season game, then a double elimination city tournament after thanksgiving.

we drove home in the pre 5:00 darkness, then made chicken gyros for dinner and got ready for a new week.
