few pictures, a little sickness, last soccer game

it was a chilly, sunny week last week. lows around freezing every morning (that's cold for seattle, especially in november!). ashford had picture day last tuesday, so i'm eager to see those. we only fought a little about what he would wear. ;) it was also election day and while we voted by mail (drop off box) the weekend before, we watched the results on tv that night. we were pleased with the outcome (especially here in washington). i also did a little early christmas shopping in lynnwood that day. i always think if i start early, i will finish early, but that's rarely the case. i only go to a mall about once a year nowadays and you better believe it's when it's decorated for christmas. :)

thursday after school ashford told me he wasn't feeling well. we took his temperature and it was normal. fast forward an hour and i could tell he had a fever. temp of 100. i gave him a covid test, but it was negative. i think there's a lot of other viruses going around right now. that evening i did a virtual meeting for azalea's school's winter enrichment program (6 friday field trips this winter). ashford fell asleep in our bed at 8pm and we moved him to his bed where he slept through the night.

friday was veterans day. the kids were off school and thatcher was off work. it was a quiet work day for me since it's a bank holiday. ashford woke up feeling a little better than the night before (no fever), but i knew he needed to lay low. we had to cancel plans with friends, which is always a bummer. we stayed home all day. lots of coloring, boards games, reading, and screen time. we made pizza for dinner and watched 'hidden figures' for a movie night.

saturday morning ashford was feeling much better and hadn't had a fever in over 24 hours. i did some cleaning and errands, fritz came over to play with ashford in the afternoon. at dinner time, the 4 of us went to 'uneeda burger' for dinner. it had been a while since we all went out together. i always thought going out to eat with older kids would be relaxing, but we're not quite there yet. ;) we watched another movie when we got home.

sunday we made a big breakfast and lounged around. azalea and i tried to go to the library but forgot it doesn't open until noon on sundays, so we stopped into starbucks because she wanted a frappuccino. my little tween is looking very teen.

ashford went to fritz's for a play date and thatcher and i went to azalea's final soccer game of the fall season. they lost again, which means they didn't win any games the entire season, but they were good sports about it and really grew as a team this year. i think they will drop down to a lower bracket next fall.

we relaxed in the afternoon and i went to the grocery store. we had a "every one pick their own dinner" kinda night. thatcher and i were feeling a bit drained after the 3 day weekend.

this is the last week of school before they get a whole week off for thanksgiving. whoa!
