october vibes, a bonfire, bewildering weather

 it was back to just the four of us last week. school, work, play dates, soccer practices, pta stuff. par for the course :) 

i thought our halloween display was needing a little something else, so i got some fake spider webs.

ashford had fritz and arlo over on thursday after school. they were headed to 7-11 at the end of our street for slurpees. 

friday night we picked up 'crackle mi' for dinner (we can't get enough of it lately) and watched "the rise of gru" minions movie, which the kids saw over the summer in the theater with my mom, but they've been eagerly awaiting it to be on streaming.

saturday morning azalea and i went to northgate to go to target and the library. it was a fun little productive outing :) we relaxed at home in the afternoon. at dinner time, i dropped off ashford at fritz's for his first sleepover (at some one else's house). then thatcher, azalea, and i came back to their house a couple hours later for a fire in the chiminea. it was a beautiful night and kay's yard is so festive at halloween time! 

we knew there was a slight possibility that ashford would want to come home at bedtime (or later), but he did amazing and spent the whole night. 

azalea and i picked him up sunday morning. he was very tired and actually fell back asleep again at 11am, which never happens. azalea had a soccer game and i was really hoping it would be a win for them, but they lost 4-1. they were very evenly matched with the other team and the score was 1-1 for most of the game. donuts were the after game treat, so that helped soften the blow ;) 

 

the kids both had friends over in the afternoon and i got groceries and did lots of laundry. super exciting. 

this week is busy with lots of appointments, soccer, etc. we are continuing our many week streak of 70+ and sunny every day in seattle and there is no end in sight. it feels great, but also is disturbing because it should not be like this in october.
