these are a few of my favorite things

i had a sudden urge to write a post featuring some of my favorite things right now. who knows, maybe one of them will become one of your favorite things ;)

1. shape tape concealer by tarte. i am usually more of a drug store make up kinda girl, but occasionally i've tried some higher end products that win me over despite their price. one of those is this concealer. i used to use concealer and foundation most days, but since discovering this concealer, i have stopped using foundation. it's a little expensive ($30), but i usually wait to buy it until it's on sale. it covers under eye circles and blemishes better than any other concealer i've ever tried.

2. slim fit ribbed tank tops from target. i discovered these tank tops last summer and have since bought 6 or 7 of them. they are super comfortable, flattering, and inexpensive. they do run small, so i always go up at least 1 size from my normal shirt size. they are on sale for $5 (!!) right now. maybe i need another...

3. belt bags (aka fanny packs). this is a trend that i started seeing about a year ago and i was super skeptical at first. i mean, fanny packs were such a comedic target among young people in the 90's. but like a lot of things, they have found their way back to being fashionable. i found a black nylon one made by gaim at marshalls a few months ago and i started wearing it to the gym. then i started wearing it with my regular clothes and it is so dang convenient, so i bought a brown faux leather one from target and now i don't use any other purse!

4. oval make up brushes. i don't know what it is about these type of brushes, but they are easy to hold and bend, apply make up evenly, and are so satisfying to use. i'm obsessed. i found this exact set for $8 at tjmaxx, which is much cheaper than the link. many other companies make them too, so it would be a safe bet checking out your tjmaxx or marshalls.

5. sally hansen gel nail polish. i found this nail polish during the pandemic and it is truly the best nail polish i've ever used. despite having "gel" in the name, it doesn't require any special lights or removal methods, just a top coat and regular polish remover. the brush helps it go on really smoothly and i always get a full week of wear before it starts to chip. i don't go to a salon for manicures anymore, because i love this stuff so much. i have close to 10 colors at this point and i want more, but i try to wait until they are on sale. they are around $9 normally.
