classroom volunteering, summer in april, cat sitting

 last tuesday i was able to volunteer at the kids' school for the first time in over 2 years. ashford's teacher emailed a couple weeks ago that they were opening the school to parent volunteers again. i'll be going in every tuesday and thursday from 12-12:30 to help some kids in ashford's class who need extra reading support. my first two sessions went really well. :)

we were treated to some beautiful weather in the middle of last week. it even got to 76 degrees last thursday. i feel like this happens every year in april. we get 1-2 really nice days and then it's cold again for 2 months. haha. but we enjoyed it. the kids played outside with simone and thelonius for hours after school. and i read on the deck. heaven! 

friday evening was technically the kick-off to the kids' spring break. we made bruschetta chicken for dinner and watched a movie. saturday morning i went to the gym and then azalea and i went to the library and target because she wanted to use a birthday gift card. we hung out at home all afternoon, then went to take care of my friend kay's two cats while they are visiting family this week. we are going once a day for four days to change their food/water bowls, clean the litter box, and give them a little love. 

 

ashford had baseball practice then we picked up take out from uneeda burger for dinner and watched a movie. sunday morning we made a big breakfast and hung out at home. ashford's friend cameron came over for a couple hours in the afternoon. azalea was supposed to have a soccer game in the afternoon but it got cancelled due to too many players being gone for spring break. we went to see the kitties again and made pizza for dinner. 

we have some fun stuff planned this week, starting off with the dentist. ha!
