spooky decor, outdoor movie night, 24 hour momcation
the kids have been telling me all month that they don't approve of our lack of outdoor halloween decorations. so when i was getting groceries at fred meyer the other day, i picked up some window clings, a door covering, and some spooky caution tape. the kids were so thrilled to put everything up.
on tuesday i made a white chicken chili (with rice instead of beans to be low fodmap) and it was really good!
the kids got some fun halloween mail from grandma cheryl and grandpa durant.
we watched a little of the presidential town halls on thursday night and then the kids wanted to watch the play-off game and send a picture to unkie brandon because he loves baseball :)
on friday evening, my friend kay invited us over for an outdoor movie night in her backyard. she is the hostess with the mostest (she loves halloween) and it was such a fun time! she had popcorn and smores for the kids and we watched "hotel transylvania 3".
this pandemic has been for the most part, not fun, but i do appreciate that it's made people be more creative :)
i mentioned that about a month ago my friend vanessa and i booked an air bnb in the green lake neighborhood for a night. saturday was the night! i picked her up at 10 on saturday morning to make it a full 24 hours of freedom :) we did some shopping and had lunch on the deck at rays. it was the first time i've eaten out during the pandemic, so it felt like the ultimate treat.
in the evening we ordered pizza, drank wine, and relaxed with a couple
movies and spa face masks. and i got an uninterrupted night of sleep. priceless!
aren't these creepy? haha
while i was gone, azalea had soccer, thatcher and the kids made banana bread, ordered pizza, and watched "the nightmare before christmas". on sunday i re-joined my family and we relaxed at home most of the day.
