getting settled, well check up, 13th anniversary
we've been in our new house for a week and a half already and it feels so good! it felt like home here right away and we are loving all of the space, having a garage that can fit our car, and the list goes on. matt, vanessa, and ewan came for a tour last weekend.
we're almost entirely unpacked now and we've been hanging some pictures and making some furniture purchases. the most noteworthy is new patio furniture for our deck. for the past 5 years, we've just had some folding chairs and a table that is getting rusty. i was ready for an upgrade! i found a loveseat, chair, and 2 nesting tables at lowe's.
this boy gives us a run for our money on a daily basis, but he is the
sweetest too. he asked me if he could help me build the patio furniture
and he did a great job helping.
here is it in the day light. it's full sun and gets quite toasty but i know we will love having this space this summer.
and here it is in the evening with the twinkle lights on. i am obsessed! i sat out there until 10pm one night this week until i heard rustling in the tree right by me and there was a raccoon (yes, again!) staring me down. i jumped up so fast and ran inside! haha.
we have plenty of pictures to hang on our walls, but i was wanting some sort of macrame or fringe wall hanging. after looking at a bunch on etsy for $30-40, i decided i could make a simple one myself with supplies from joann fabrics. i do not say this lightly as i'm not crafty at all. ;) but i was pleasantly surprised at what i made for less than $5!
this is a terrible picture because it was a dark morning, but you get the idea.
here is another one of my diy projects. he's a work in progress.
thatcher and i celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary on 6/9. hard to believe! we had a "regular" tuesday. worked, homeschooled, broke up kid fights, and ordered BBQ takeout for dinner :)
finally...the kids had their well check up at the pediatrician last weekend. it was supposed to be at the end of march, but it got cancelled because of covid.
we all had to wear masks, but it was nice to be able to go. these kids are growing like crazy! azalea is now 52 inches tall and weighs 57 lbs. ashford is 46 inches tall and weighs 45 lbs. they both are in the 40-50th percentile for their ages.
next week is the last week of school. bring it on!!
