fashion in the time of covid

a couple of these pictures go back before the covid shutdown but most of the them are from the last 3 months. covid has had a huge impact on people's fashion choices and shopping habits, including mine! my beloved trips to goodwill have been on hold since march. i'm not sure when goodwill will re-open here (other retailers have started to open), but i can't wait until it does! when the stay at home order started in march, i - like many other 30 something year old moms - turned to leggings and comfy clothes because there was no where to go and no one to see...and comfy clothes = life. but i shockingly got tired of wearing them after 2-3 weeks and went back to "getting dressed" in my normal clothes. i love putting together outfits and even though i was stuck at home, it helped my mood and made things feel more normal to get dressed.

i wasn't able to add numbers to this collage, but i'll follow my usual 1-9 from top left to bottom right.
1. these pink earrings were a christmas gift from my mom. i love leather earrings because you get the statement aspect without the weight :) the tan striped dress is from target and the gray cardigan is from nordstrom rack.

2. this black sweater was a ross find. i think i paid $5-6 for it. the headband i got from buffalo exchange. i have not owned any headbands since like 6th grade, but i think they are fun. the silver leaf earrings came from fred meyer :)

3. let's talk bodysuits! it took me a while to get on board with this trend, but i really love them now. i tuck a lot of my shirts in and bodysuits are nice because they stay tucked and and don't get bunched up. i found this one at goodwill, but it's originally from target. i wear it a lot! the light wash jeans are also from goodwill (via old navy). i got them new with the tags on! the color feels very spring/summery and i love the high rise with the bodysuit. the brown suede mules i got from fred meyer. i don't wear them very much since they feel a little dressy to me for everyday, but i probably will when i have more reasons to venture out.  the cognac circle purse is from ross and i love and use it all the time. i have 2 circle purses right now and i think they are fun and add interest to an outfit.

4. blazers! another trend that i was like "ehhhh." but i love it now. i found this blazer for super cheap at ross. it's actually sort of a fake blazer because it's a light weight stretchy material, which makes it really comfortable to wear. i paired it with a black v-neck from target and my cropped flares i got at a boutique in minneapolis last summer. i also wore my trusty black booties which i only wear when "going out". this was for a night out with my girl friends before lockdown.

5. this blue and white stripped top is from goodwill (via jcrew). i bought it shortly before the stay at home order and then didn't wear it at all for a couple months because it seemed too dressy. but it's actually not! it has collar, but it's super light weight and easy to wear. a great spring/summer top! the jeans are from goodwill (via banana republic) and the quality is so good! you can't see my sandals but they are these yellow sandals from nordstrom.

6. this floral top was a $4 find at old navy. it's a little tight in the shoulders so it isn't my favorite to wear, but it's cute. i paired it with my cropped flares again and my official summer 2020 brown cognac sandals i wear almost every day. i buy a pair of brown sandals every summer because they go with everything.

7. i wore this outfit on mother's day, which was a gorgeous 80 degree day! the red tied tank top is from goodwill (via target). the jean shorts i bought new at target and i love the distressing on them! i don't see them on the target website anymore, which must mean they are sold out. i don't wear flip flops as much as i used to, but these black ones were just calling my name that day.

8. these are the same distressed jeans shorts as in the last picture. the sandals are from target last summer. i love the pop of leopard!

9. this is my quintessential "quarantine look" of the bunch. the "amour" graphic tee i got from target this spring, but i don't see it on their website anymore. i love how versatile it is. the gray cardigan is the same as in #1 from nordstrom rack. the leggings are actually more of a dusty rose color but the camera made them look maroon. i got them at ross and they have pockets and are great for working out or relaxing.

i have a new spot for outfit pics in my new house so stay tuned!
