this week at home: it's the little things
10 weeks of staying at home! we've been venturing out to the grocery store more than we have in the past two months. i think we are getting lazier about planning meals and therefore needing to go more often just to get a few things. but we always wear a mask and i'm happy to see most other people do as well. a
picture showed up in my timehop of my mom here last may. i'm sad she
can't be here now, but we will be reunited at some point. they announced today that the minnesota state fair is cancelled for the end of august. it's the right call, but still sad. pre-covid we were hoping to go this year for the first time in 5 years.
i know an after dinner walk is not a novel idea for most people, but the kids always protest going on walks in the neighborhood, so we don't usually all go together. but the other day we told them they could scooter while we walked and they quickly changed their tune! three nights in a row we got out for a walk after dinner and it was so nice!
we have walked 3 different parts of ballard and i always love looking at the houses, flowers, and occasional ducks and chickens :)
i enjoy my solo walks and a trip to venture coffee each weekend too :)
we've always done a big breakfast on sunday mornings, but i look forward to it now more than ever. it's the little things!
the kids play 2-3 board games a day. some with thatcher or me and some on their own (after some convincing). ;)
this was the scene one morning this week. it made me giggle. ashford still ends up in our bed 98% of nights.
wishing you all a good memorial weekend! we are hoping for some sunshine (though it will only be in the low to mid 60s here). planning to do more packing, eat some good food, and relax!
