back to school, happy birthday ewan, snow watch 2020
the kids went back to school last week after being off since december 20th. i was a little worried about how it would go for ashford after the break because he was having some emotional drop offs in december, but it (mostly) went well! it was nice to get back in the swing of things around here. i worked (in peace), had some appointments, and did a little shopping. i went to old navy one day and they were practically giving the clothes away - ha! i got 3 tops for $25 and i must be feeling spring-y because none of them are black, gray or beige ;)
we had a pretty quiet weekend here. we watched a movie with the kids friday night (abominable). saturday morning i went to the gym and then we all went to fred meyer to get groceries and a birthday gift for ewan. we hung out at home for the afternoon: read, played battle ship, and the kids played outside when it wasn't raining. we made pulled pork sandwiches for dinner, and the kids and thatcher played some video games.
sunday we mostly hung out at home until ewan's 6th birthday party in the afternoon. it was at their house and our whole family was invited, along with a couple other family friends of theirs. vanessa had crafts for the kids and a pinata. we had pizza and cake and hung out for a couple hours. i can't believe ashford and ewan were only 18 months old when we moved here - where has the time gone?!
for the last few days there has been a lot of hype about snow in the forecast (always the way in seattle) ;) will school be closed or not? every one stocks up on groceries, etc. well it "snowed" sunday night into monday. this is what we woke up to. school is delayed 2 hours, which is sort of comical, but i know other areas of the city probably have more snow than we do. and bigger hills. we are supposed to get snow on and off all week, so we'll see what happens!
