another birthday post

i want to get up the last of the birthday festivities before the weekend and our guests arrive. tuesday morning, azalea bounded out of bed proclaiming "i'm 8! i feel bigger!" so cute :) she got to bring mini cupcakes to school to share with her class during snack time. that evening we met thatcher at "thai siam" for dinner.

 

azalea is super into thai food lately, so that was her request. i love it! the kids were so good at the restaurant. i mean, they generally do pretty well at restaurants these days, but this night was exceptional! it was really enjoyable for all of us. 

when we got home, we called my mom on skype and my brother on facetime (haha) to watch azalea open her gifts. i'm so glad they can be a part of her birthday even from afar. 

she got lots of unicorn and emoji themed gifts. right up her alley ;) then we enjoyed the unicorn cake that thatcher made her. he was making fun of its appearance, but i thought it was adorable. and most importantly, delicious! it was a fun night celebrating our big girl.
