friday list style

here i am, again with a friday hodge podge of things floating around my head. so, here we go! 

1. thatcher officially booked his flight to laos at the end of november for his brother's wedding. he will be gone for 9 (count them...9!) days, which sort of terrifies me from a parenting perspective. but fear not...my awesome aunt cindy (my mom's sister) volunteered to travel out here and help me out with the kids for a few days. hallelujah! the interesting part is that it falls over thanksgiving, so thatcher won't be here for that - but cindy will be! i'm excited to figure out what we will do while she is here!

2. i ordered new heels for kelli's wedding (she told us to just buy/use whatever black heels we wanted since the dresses are floor length). when we moved, i threw away my black heels i had from probably 2004. i rarely ever need to wear heels, so i hadn't bought any in forever! i found some beautiful black wedges with sparkly straps on nordstrom.com for $40! i'm happy to report they are just as comfortable as they are cute and i can't wait to wear them! 

3. our friends becky, jeromy, and their daughters linnea and britta arrive next wednesday and i'm so excited to show them around ballard and the rest of seattle, including many of our favorite beaches, parks, restaurants, and more. their vrbo i just 2-3 blocks away, so it will be so convenient to meet up! 

4. we don't have many plans this weekend, which is nice considering how busy august is going to be. i need to do invoicing for work and i'm meeting up with one of the other bridesmaids from kelli's wedding to finish planning the bachelorette weekend. other than that, i'm sure we'll spend lots of time outside with the kids! hope you have a good weekend!
