five.

my first baby is five years old today. five! right now that seems so big to me, but i know i'll look back in 10 and 15 years and know she was still so little.

i cannot believe it's been five years since you were placed in my arms for the first time. you have grown into a beautiful little girl with so much personality. we have been through so much together and there is so much more still to come. you are silly, stubborn, and sweet. you challenge me in ways i never imagined possible and make me want to be kinder, more loving, and more patient. this was such an epic year for you between moving across the country and learning that eventually we have to say goodbye to those we love. next fall you will start kindergarten and it'll be a new chapter for all of us, but i know you'll do great. i love watching you grow up so much that i don't really mourn the days that have already passed. you made me a mom and for that i am eternally grateful.
