memorial weekend fun
what a picture perfect memorial weekend. beautiful weather and lots of delicious grilled food and time with friends! friday night we had a family date to chipotle. we are pretty predictable as far as not wanting to cook on friday nights. anyone else?
saturday was bbq #1 of the weekend. we met up with becky and dawn and their families at nokomis park for a play date and lunch. the kids enjoyed the play ground and playing with bubbles and balls, and the grown ups enjoyed hanging out. it was such a gorgeous morning! we grilled hot dogs for lunch and everyone brought sides to share. i love that becky, who is a good friend of mine in real life and recently joined the blogging world, is becoming friends with dawn, who i met through blogging. worlds colliding = awesome :)
in the afternoon, ashford and i took a trip to old navy where i scored a bunch of summer clothes for myself for super cheap! thatcher picked up a big girl bike for azalea that morning at a garage sale, so we let her try it out in the afternoon. she is pretty excited about it even though she doesn't quite understand how to pedal forward.
sunday morning, azalea and thatcher ran some errands and ashford and i went for a walk around the neighborhood. i painted azalea's toe nails, which she was pretty excited about.
sunday afternoon we had bbq #2 at our neighbors sarah and tony's who live down the street. a bunch of families from our block came and we grilled and hung out while the kids played. we were home by 6 and i kept feeling like it should be bedtime, but it wasn't, which made for a long night. ha!
monday we decided to go to the splash pad at oak hill park since it was going to be warm! our friends mandy, hai, their daughter georgia and their neighbors who we've hung out with before met us there. azalea loved the splash pad for about a half hour and then she was done. luckily there's a playground there too, so that kept the kids entertained for a while longer. looking forward to many more trips there this summer!
finally monday night we went to see our old next door neighbors' new house they moved to a couple weeks ago. i had seen pictures, but it was even more beautiful in person! we miss them, but we're so happy for them! we grilled burgers (bbq #3!) and the kids played. it was a great end to a busy weekend!

It was SO nice seeing you on Saturday - I can't wait to picnic again sometime. And THANK YOU for introducing me to Becky. She's so great!!
LOVE Azalea's little bike. Too cute!
How did Azalea do with the bike? Aubrey has a hard time pedaling!
