easter 2014
the kids woke up around 7am (after an awful, awful night of sleep for ashford, whew!). i don't think azalea even remembered that the easter bunny came, so i reminded her and then of course she was excited. i was hoping to get some cute sibling pictures of them with their baskets, but the first thing azalea did was grab her basket and run away with it. haha. oh well. azalea got a candy, a shirt, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and hair clips.
ashford got a shirt, a stuffed bunny, and a crinkly book. he was super impressed ;)
we hung out at home the rest of the morning while thatcher baked rolls. i would have liked to have gone to church, but i didn't think it was worth the stress of dragging the kids there on my own. since i'm a glutton for punishment, i took the kids outside to try to take some pictures, but this was the best i could do in the 10 seconds that azalea was willing to participate...
i even tried to bribe her with candy and she still wouldn't cooperate. i don't know why this continues to surprise me after 3 years. :) the girl does not like to pose for pictures. so we played instead...
then we headed to my aunt and uncle's house around 11:30 for an easter egg hunt and lunch. every year since my cousins were young, my uncle has hid eggs around the yard for all of us to find (we each are assigned a color). some years, it's snowy and cold...this year was absolutely beautiful - 70 and sunny! i can't remember the last time we had an easter this nice.
azalea was so excited to look for the eggs. she totally got it and kept saying "we need to find more eggs!" haha. next year ashford will be runnin' around out there too!
my goal was to get one nice family picture. well apparently that just doesn't exist these days, so instead here is one of our many "real life" pictures. i know i will look back and miss these crazy days. that's what they say, right?!
hope all of you (who celebrate) had a nice easter, too!

i LOVED the easter day weather too!
How does she like having Ashford around now? Does she pay him much attention?
Your kiddos are adorable!
Glad you had a great Easter!
