second annual mn blogger favorite things party {and other weekend happenings}
hey look, i actually managed to do a weekend recap! :) friday night we ordered pizza and watched a movie after azalea went to bed...or should i say, thatcher watched a movie and ashford and i snuggled/fell asleep on the couch? that's a little more accurate :)
saturday morning i headed to target to pick up my items for the second annual mn blogger favorite things party. i went last year too and it's lots of fun. basically, you bring 3 copies of one of your favorite thing (around $5) and add it to a table with everyone else's favorite things. then you draw names and every gets to go up 3 different times and pick a gift each time. i decided to bring dry shampoo (which was my favorite thing during maternity leave when showers were hard to come by) and some dark chocolate (because, duh). this year's party was especially fun because 2 of my "in real life friends" (who also blog) diana and becky came to the party. there was tons of delicious food and i went home with lots of fun gifts, including coconut oil sugar scrub, make up remover wipes, a picture frame, candy, etc.
thanks to zhenya for the picture :)

saturday night thatcher's parents' came over to watch the kids and he and i headed to our friends' jackie and tom's for tom's birthday party. they had a whole spread of yummy dips and cheesecake (i ate my way through saturday, if you didn't notice!) i had a fun night hanging out with a bunch of ladies (we joked about the segregated party - the guys were all in the basement, while we were upstairs).
sunday morning we ran some errands and then our neighbors ryan, rebekah, and carson brought over lunch. they are selling their house (wahhh) and there was an open house in the afternoon, so they needed to be out of there. they ended up staying all afternoon, so carson could take a nap. it was fun! the weather was gorgeous (60 degrees!), so later, uncle anders came over and we took azalea and ashford to the park. the park was not quite "ready" yet, there were a bunch of huge lake-size puddles, but azalea had fun (and got soaked)! we ended the weekend with grilling burgers, watching frozen, and an early bedtime! :)
