christmas 2013 and my dad's latest scan
slowly getting caught up on blog posts. looking back now, i laugh thinking about how obsessed i was with ashford being born in time to be home for christmas. i got my wish and then christmas ended up being a total blur for me. i hardly even got to enjoy it or can remember it. i was so sleep-deprived and nursing ashford constantly (my milk was also coming in, which is lots of fun) ;) oh well!
we spent christmas eve at thatchers' parents' house:
we did christmas morning at our house with just the four of us. santa even managed to come :)
christmas night was spent at my parent's house:
next year we'll have an almost 4 year old and a 1 year old...crazy to think!
a couple days after christmas, my dad had a scan to check the effectiveness of his current cancer treatment. it was his second scan since switching chemo drugs about four months ago. thankfully the scan showed that all of his tumors remained unchanged. of course we would have loved to have heard that they shrunk, but we will take the news we got! the "activity level" of his lung tumor also decreased, which is fantastic. he is cleared to head back down to florida this week and continue with his same treatment for 2-3 months before they will do another scan. between a healthy newborn and my dad's good report i was certainly counting my blessings this christmas.
