baby #2: what will it be?!

our ultrasound day is finally here! assuming baby cooperates this morning (fingers crossed), we will know if azalea is going to have a little brother or a little sister this january. i can't wait! i still go back and forth about the sex, personally...one minute i'm thinking girl and the next i'm thinking boy. of course a healthy baby is our #1 priority. whether it's a little sister (we have tons of girl stuff, and another girl is totally in our comfort zone), or a little brother (getting to experience being a mom to both a girl and a boy would be amazing) we will be equally thrilled! 

just for fun, here is what all the super "scientific" predictors are saying: 

heart beat above 140 bpm = girl, below 140 bpm = boy - at my first two appointments, the heart beat was above 140, but at the most recent one, it was 128. azalea's was always above 140 (as far as i remember). so, let's say boy! 

If you are craving sweets = girl, salty or sour = boy. i haven't had too many strong cravings, but i will always take sweets over salty/sour. girl! 

chinese birth chart which uses the age of the mother and the month of conception, says boy!

the mayans determined the sex of the baby by even and odd numbers of your birth year and age. if both are even or both are odd = girl. if one of each = boy. 84 and 29 are one of each, so boy!

if your skin is really broken out = girl. nice and clear = boy. this is one of my biggest pregnancy pet peeves symptoms, so definitely girl! 

if you've felt super sick = girl, little to no morning sickness = boy. i've been lucky to escape any major sickness (i also did with azalea), but we'll say boy!

a couple other personal factors to note: my pregnancy has been almost identical to last time, so that makes me think girl, but there is also a very strong pattern of girl followed by boy among the women in my family, so all of them are thinking boy. 

our ultra sound is at 8am this morning, and we are having a small gender reveal gathering at our house tonight, so you'll most likely find out what we're having on thursday morning!
