baby #2: it's a....

boy!!!

a few stories from our ultrasound: 

1. there is only one baby in there, which is a relief :) 

2. while taking the baby's measurements, the tech kept getting a perplexed look on her face. i have to admit this worried me at first, but she didn't actually seem worried, just confused. turns out everything was looking clearer and larger than she was expecting and she couldn't figure out why. finally she took a measurement of the head (i think?) and says "aha! you are not 19 weeks along, you are nearly 23." ummmm what? that's an interesting development! especially given that my cycles were very normal when we found out, so i didn't question the timing. on the other hand, it makes sense since i felt like all of my symptoms started happening so early. so, instead of our january 19th due date, we are now looking at december 29th. whoa. still wrapping my head around that one. not to mention, now all my bumpdates are "off" (ah, the life of a blogger). not sure how i feel about skipping ahead 3 weeks in my pregnancy. wow. 

3. baby boy was quite the little acrobat in there. at one point he was completely folded in half with his hands and his feet together. we got some pretty funny pictures. here is a sweet one of his little profile. i love it...

i can't believe i'm gonna be mom to a girl and a boy in just a few short months. so thankful for my healthy baby and not taking this miracle for granted for even a second.
