a quiet weekend for us

we had a relatively quiet weekend over here, so not a whole lot in the way of pictures for you today. friday night thatcher went out with some friends and azalea and i hung out at home. once she was in bed for the night, i relaxed on the couch until i fell asleep around 9:30. i know, party animal!

saturday morning azalea thought 5:50 am was a good time for us to retrieve her from her crib. oof. we haven't done that in a a while. for the last few months, she's generally been good about sleeping until around 7:00 on weekends. we couldn't get her to lay in our bed either, so we were all up bright and early. to make it even more fun, for the next hour she proceeded to have a meltdown about something approximately every 5 minutes. it was exhausting. i think she was still tired, but we couldn't talk her into going back to bed. so we weathered the storm until it was a socially acceptable time to leave the house (the usual cure for her craziness, not so much this day). azalea and i went to my parents 'and then ran some errands. she took a (short) nap in the afternoon. i was able to get a nap in too, so that was nice. in the late afternoon, we attended miss linnea's second birthday party. it was at minnehaha park, which was hoppin'! the kids enjoyed the playground, we had dinner + cake, and watched linnea open her gifts. it was a fun time!

sunday morning azalea gave us an extra hour of sleep than saturday. we ran some errands in the morning and then i met up with my friend dani who was in town for a bachelorette party saturday night. we went to the galleria and walked around for a bit. it was so nice to catch up, i hadn't see her in months! the afternoon = more naps (what else is new?) and a trip to the mall. thatcher had a meeting sunday night, so i just relaxed in anticipation of another work week. here ends my riveting blog post :)

I'm glad your weekend included us! It was great to see you guys. Thank you so much for coming to Linnea's party. I love the moment you captured when she realized it was pretty cool that people were singing to her. :-) Have a great week!

Naps and going to bed early? Sign me up!!! I dont even have a child yet or anything to wake up to yet the days fly by and I'm tired! I'm too young for this business :) But a quiet weekend is always good. Family time beats everything in this world. BTW, that cake looks delish!!!!
