mill city market, park play date, birthday party
friday night we had no plans, which was nice. we ate a random dinner of whatever we could scrounge up in the kitchen and then watched a movie after azalea went to sleep.
saturday morning we met up with my friend kris and her husband jon (and a friend of theirs) at the mill city farmer's market, my favorite farmer's market in the twin cities! we hadn't been there yet this year, so it was fun. the weather felt like fall, which was pretty crazy after all the heat we've had! we walked around the market, got some food (a chocolate croissant for me - yum!). i was even going to try to get over my pregnancy-induced coffee aversion and order a mocha from the bolt coffee and juice bar, but their espresso machine was broken :( oh well. we also went into the guthrie, like always, to let azalea run around and so we could enjoy the view.
the afternoon included a nap for azalea and me. in the late afternoon, we met up with some neighborhood friends at the park for a play date. it did not rain, which was good, but it was so cool out! i didn't take any pictures. we ended the evening making italian sausage and heirloom tomato pizza on the grill and i relaxed the rest of the night while thatcher went out.
sunday morning we headed to a birthday party for our friend laura at hyland park preserve in bloomington. she also has a toddler, so it was a family-friendly bbq. does anyone from the twin cities remember going to chutes and ladders park as a kid? that's where the bbq was, but it looks totally different now. it has since been re-built. azalea did not like the park, in fact she bawled about it. a lot. she also cried about the public restroom and when everyone sang happy birthday. someone is going through a huge fear stage right now. i won't lie...it really stresses me out, but i try to just keep calm and comfort her. what else can you do? i just have to keep reminding myself it won't last forever.

laura is also expecting baby #2 (about 7 weeks before me). let's not talk about how ginormous my bump is :)
a busy morning meant a nice long nap for azalea (and me!). i nap pretty much every day chance i get these days. we visited my parents for a bit while thatcher made dinner and then finished off the night with a movie.

Sounds like a fun and relaxing weekend.
I heard that park looks different now. I spent most of my childhood summers there. I'm excited to take Avery there sometime soon.
Looks like you had a lovely weekend!
your bump is TOO CUTE!
Sorry Azalea is going through a rough time right now. Aubrey's uber sensitive right now too. She pouts and crys everytime we try to tell her no or even remotely scold her. Such a drama queen! Lucklily you have a great attitude- it can't last forever...right?
