i left my heart in florida

sorry for the silence over here, we returned yesterday from a week long trip to venice, florida. as you know, i typically don't broadcast to the world (i.e. internet) when we go out of town and leave our house unattended. ;) i have lots of pictures and stories to share starting tomorrow. we had a wonderful trip! we stayed with my parents at their condo and enjoyed beautiful weather every day (upper 70's and sunny).

we spent our days at the pool, the beach, going out to eat, biking, walking, and eating ice cream. it's amazing how quickly i forget about "real life" (i.e. work, the cold/snow, etc) when i travel down there. my parents have owned their condo for 10 years (thanks to some inheritance money from my dad's life-long bachelor, penny pinching uncle), so it feels like a second home to me. we know all their neighbors and friends and always look forward to seeing them each winter. enjoying such beautiful weather in february also makes me wonder why i live in a place where we suffer through freezing cold weather for 6 months out of the year. i know we can ski, skate, ice fish, etc here, but i would much rather do warm weather activities. i just have to remind myself there is no perfect place to live. i could not handle 100 degree summers, hurricanes, etc that they have in florida.

here is a pic for to tie you over for now:

Aww. Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about your trip! There isn't a perfect place to live... but Florida is pretty awesome. I miss it every day.

Even tho I'd miss ya, you should have totally stayed in florida for a few more months for this snow to melt and the temps to warm up a bit!!

Looking forward to your recap posts.
