a new baby, a second birthday party, "new" friends

we had a super busy saturday and a super relaxing sunday. my kind of weekend! :) saturday morning we went to our friends jeff and chrissy's to meet their new little bundle of joy, aaron. aaron's big sister tegan is 2 months older than azalea. aaron was adorable and it was nice to catch up with them and hear how life is with 2 under 2!

in the afternoon, we attended a 2nd birthday party for our friends carolina and eric's little girl, naomi. there were 5 other kids (almost all azalea's age) and their parents who came. the kids played, we all ate cake, and naomi opened her gifts. it was a lot of fun!

the birthday girl!

saturday evening thatcher and i dropped off azalea at his parents' and then met up with diana and james for dinner at pizzeria lola. funny back story to this: thatcher and diana were friends in late high school and early college (before thatcher and i met), but they haven't really seen each other since then. i had only met diana in real life one time about 10 years ago. but for some reason she and i have have been in touch via facebook and blogging for years (we go way back with blogging...to the early 2000's - haha). she and james live not far from us, so we decided it was about time we met up for dinner...and it was so fun!  the pizza was delicious and we had a blast chatting with them for a good of couple hours. it felt like we were having dinner with old friends. she wrote a pretty awesome blog post about it. looking forward to hopefully seeing them again soon!

in true blogger style, diana made sure we took a picture :)

as i mentioned, sunday was a nice, relaxing day. we ran some errands in the morning and then while azalea napped in the afternoon, i went to southdale for a little retail therapy ;) i had an h&m gift card from christmas and i got these three shirts (the blue one is actually more of a dress).

i also found some super discounted jeans at the gap. all around it was a success! we made guacamole as an afternoon snack (it's becoming a fun sunday routine over here). after dinner, our neighbor dropped off her golden retriever who is staying with us for the next 4 days. we love maddie, she is a sweet girl :)

It wouldn't be a true blate unless there were pictures involved, riiiiight? I lurv your cute tops from H&M. I like that place. Isn't there a new one in uptown? Or is that a F21? I get those two mixed up, but I love H&M much better. Ha!
